Help Protect Care for Trans Youth

On Dec. 18, 2025, the federal government proposed new rules restricting Medicaid funding for hospitals that provide care to trans youth. The move greatly threatens access to essential care for trans youth across the country, especially since the practice is already banned in 27 states including in Iowa.

Care for trans youth saves lives and is supported by major medical associations including the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians.
