This session will be a more in depth look at Pronouns and Deconstructing Gender.

Pronoun Trainings are opportunities to gain a deeper understanding to why it is important to respect other people’s gender identities, to build sympathy based on personal experiences, to practice and normalize sharing and asking pronouns, and to assist you in creating safe and inclusive environments.

The training covers:

  • Why Pronouns Matter

  • Dos and Don’ts of Pronoun Usage

  • What to Do if You Misgender Someone

  • Making Your Organization More Inclusive

Deconstructing Gender aims to dismantle the notion of the gender binary and start reconstructing your understanding of gender as something more fluid. This training provides the framework through which individuals and organizations can create environments where gender-expansive people thrive.

The training covers the following:

  • A Historical Perspective of Gender

  • The Social Construction of Gender

  • How Do We Deconstruct the Gender Binary and Why Is that Important?

  • Practical Ways to Support Diverse Genders
