COUNSELING Groups
The Project provides a number of counseling groups to the people we serve. All groups are free to attend and do not require insurance coverage.

Change & Acceptance is an inclusive, DBT skills-based therapy group designed to help people who may be experiencing anger, depression, anxiety, substance use, indecision, stress, guilt, or loneliness. It is a three-part learning experience covering these topics:
-Mindfulness
-Distress Tolerance
-Emotional Regulation
-Interpersonal EffectivenessWho: Open to community members 18+ who have the desire to learn practical tools to live in the moment, cope with stress, manage emotions, and improve relationships. Groups are limited to 12 participants.
When: Every Tuesday from 3-4:30 PM, starting January 16, 2024, at The Project of the Quad Cities, 4101 John Deere Rd., Moline, IL 61265.
Cost: Insurance is accepted but not required.
Our group meets continuously for three 8 week modules. We ask that you commit to one module at a time, as each week builds on another.
-Module 1: 1/16 - 3/5
-Module 2: 3/12 - 4/30
-Module 3: 5/7 - 6/25

Recovery Navigation to Become Well (RNBW) 🌈
RNBW is an inclusive and affirming counseling group where clients will learn about the different paths to recovery amongst a community filled with new discoveries, strength, and hope. Topics may include:
-Mindfulness
-Harm Reduction
-Sexual orientation, gender identity and expression
-Four Agreements
-Trauma
-Coping skills
Who: Adults 18+, who identify as LGBTQ+ and are experiencing mental health symptoms.
When: Biweekly beginning Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, from 5-6 p.m.
Where: 4101 John Deere Rd., Moline, IL, 61265.
Cost: Free to attend

For Trans & Gender-Expansive Folx 18+
A counselor-led, open support group for trans and gender-expansive folx to connect, share experiences, and have topic focused discussions.
Topics may include:
-Gender & sexuality
-Mental health
-Relationships (peers/family/intimate)
-Self-esteem
-Communication
-Coping skills
-And more!
Who: Folx 18+ who identify as trans and/or gender expansive
When: Every other Thursday from 5-6 p.m. starting Sept. 7, 2023.

When: Beginning November 9th, every other Thursday from 5-6 excluding Thanksgiving Day.

Transfeminine folx 18+ are invited to Body Beyond!
Body Beyond is a closed, counselor-led, sex-positive therapy group for transfeminine adults, designed to enhance sexual well-being.
Topics include:
-Exploring sexual narratives
-Developing mind-body awareness
-Building resilience
-Increasing sexual knowledge
-Coping with dysphoria
-Exploring relationships and sexualities
-Integration of past, present, and future sexual self
-Identifying skills to achieve sexual goals
More Information:
Open to transfeminine adults (18+) who have the desire to enhance sexual well-being and learn about their sexual selves.
Every Wednesday from 8:30-10:30 am, starting March 20th until May 8th.
This group is learning based, and each week builds upon the previous one.
